The Romanian Scrabble Federation and the Universitatea Sports Club are honoured to organise, and proudly invite you to join, the
3nd Romanian Open Scrabble Tournament — Cluj-Napoca, 4-5 April, 2020.

Cluj-Napoca is the second largest city of Romania — a cosmopolitan, multicultural, centuries-old town located in the heart of Transylvania, in a picturesque area. It is also a city of sports, including those of the mind..., especially scrabble!

Hotel Ary **** (str. Magaziei 19) enjoys an excellent location, on a hill close to the CFR Cluj stadium, in a quiet area, a few steps away from the site where you can admire a lovely view of the city, not far from the city centre.

Format : One open division, 15 rounds, observing WESPA rules v3; dictionary - CSW 2019; self-adjudication; 5-points penalty/ unsuccessfully challenged word; WESPA and ABSP rated tournament.

Pairing system : games 1-3, Initial Fontes round robin; games 4-14, Fontes Swiss; no repeats with games 1-8, no more than 1 repeat with games 9-14; game 15, KoTH; Gibson rule.

Prize fund: around 1200 EUR, depending on entrants and sponsors; there will be prizes for the first 3 players and also rating prizes and round prizes. There will be diplomas and little souvenirs for everybody.

Hotel prices: Single room: 35 €/night; Double room: 40 €/night (20 €/night/person). Breakfast included. The breakfast is fabulous according to Booking.com, which gave an overall rating of 8.8 for this hotel. Lunch: 10 €, Dinner: 8 €. Lunches and dinners are optional.
The prices are special for the tournament. We have obtained at least 15 rooms and we could get more, depending on registrations. There are many other possi­bilities of accommodation in Cluj-Napoca, but we strongly recommend you to book this hotel through us, because it is the place where the tournament will be played, and you'll enjoy good conditions at low rates. We have been playing in this hotel once or twice every year, for our national scrabble competitions.

Registration (including coffee, tea, water, refreshments and ratings levy): 75 euros. The place is suitable for up to 40 players.
